Karwar! Our hearts' skip a few beats on mention of the word! We did a North Karnataka trip in the middle October. Started from Hampi and ended in Karwar. Anyway, we'll talk about Hampi a little later.
We landed in Karwar via Hubli by a horrible local bus. The less said about the journey in the bus, the better! But it was a different world outside the bus. The forests, the mountains and winding roads - was a perfect trailor to what was coming.

This was coming! Taken by Pooja on the boat ride from mainland Karwar to Devbagh island.
We went to the Devbagh island immediately. And checked into our tent!

Here's me standing right outside our tent!
It's impossible to maintain a chronology of events that happened on the island. It was a perfect 'Give time a break' vacation! We spent most of our time just splashing and jumping into the water. We were busy analysing the character and strength of the waves the splashed our bodies. It felt so happy to see my sweetheart really enjoy bubbling and wobbling in the water.
Here are a couple of more snaps that capture a fraction of the joy and sights of the time we spent on the island.

That's my Bulbo chilling out on the shores of the beach!

That's us - happy and relaxed!
The next morning we want for a nature walk with the manager of Jungle Lodges, Devbagh. That was an interesting time as we listened to him explain about the mangroves, butterflies and other favourite topics of pollution and plastics. He was a very interesting guy - an environmentalist in heart and profession!

Some mangroves on the island.
We will continue the second part of the trip in the next post!
