Dancing in the Rain
we fight and fight and fight day after day after day to get through these hectic stressful lives we've chosen for ourselves. and every once in a while we both just let go...

It's one period down. It's a stage when we are supposed to reflect one what happened in the last 2 months. Lots of well wishers have asked for photographs. So here's a collection from our first two months in Singapore.

That's Pooja on Orchard Road. Orchard is pretty much uptown Singapore.

That's me at the Buena Vista MRT station. The public transport in Singapore is awesome. The MRT and buses are the arteries, fed by amazing taxis all over.

That's my sweetheart with Balazs and Mary - Our flatmates. They're Hungarian. We're a nice happy household :)

This was one of the kavadis during the Thaipusam festival in Little India, Singapore. The kavadis are pretty extreme in Singapore. The procession starts from the Perumal temple and ends in the Amman temple. Thaipusam is a big event in Malaysia, Singapore and even in Mauritius. I don't think it's this intense in India any more. There were scores of people pierced up during Thaipusam taking out kavadis and dancing in a trance.

This is the Perumal temple on Serangoon Road. This is the heart of Little India - we made pilgrimages to the eateries of Little India almost every weekend. The dosas and full meals of Komala Vilas and Anand Bhavan make us feel at home.

Karwar! Our hearts' skip a few beats on mention of the word! We did a North Karnataka trip in the middle October. Started from Hampi and ended in Karwar. Anyway, we'll talk about Hampi a little later.
We landed in Karwar via Hubli by a horrible local bus. The less said about the journey in the bus, the better! But it was a different world outside the bus. The forests, the mountains and winding roads - was a perfect trailor to what was coming.

This was coming! Taken by Pooja on the boat ride from mainland Karwar to Devbagh island.
We went to the Devbagh island immediately. And checked into our tent!

Here's me standing right outside our tent!
It's impossible to maintain a chronology of events that happened on the island. It was a perfect 'Give time a break' vacation! We spent most of our time just splashing and jumping into the water. We were busy analysing the character and strength of the waves the splashed our bodies. It felt so happy to see my sweetheart really enjoy bubbling and wobbling in the water.
Here are a couple of more snaps that capture a fraction of the joy and sights of the time we spent on the island.

That's my Bulbo chilling out on the shores of the beach!

That's us - happy and relaxed!
The next morning we want for a nature walk with the manager of Jungle Lodges, Devbagh. That was an interesting time as we listened to him explain about the mangroves, butterflies and other favourite topics of pollution and plastics. He was a very interesting guy - an environmentalist in heart and profession!

Some mangroves on the island.
We will continue the second part of the trip in the next post!
